Campaign Contribution
I made a campaign contribution to the Trump campaign. Wasn’t much money but it was a first for me — I’ve never contributed any money before to any politician. Never.
I like some of Trump’s policies but not all of them, but I’m definitely frightened by what I see among the Democrats — no borders, soft on crime, free everything, socialism, anti-free speech. The next time we elect a Democrat as president will be perilous for the country, for Democrats have turned into ideologues with no common sense.
2020 is going to be an intense year in the US. If you think 2016 was raucous, you haven’t seen anything yet. I wonder if the intensity is going to cause violence and perhaps even assassination attempts by people who have been driven over the edge. Wouldn’t surprise me at all.
But first the Democratic candidates will tear into each other.
Republicans and Trump
Where the Republicans and Trump fall down — they are climate change deniers which is kind of silly at this point; a tax cut for the very wealthy was unwise given the enormous size of the national debt, not to mention that the really rich have gotten a lot richer recently; most of the country wants reasonable constraints on owning military type weapons as well as uniform background checks; they really haven’t come up with a realistic alternative to Obamacare; they are spending enormous amounts on the military — is it too much?; and where is the national infrastructure program that everyone knows the country needs?
Cleaning Up All the Messes
Trump is just cleaning up all the messes either created by past presidents or ignored by them — nuclear North Korea, giant trade imbalance with China, insane trade agreements generally, open borders and immigration chaos, low economic growth rate, exporting of jobs abroad, reduction in American manufacturing, bogus nuclear agreement with sworn enemy Iran, lack of consistent support for Israel (the one real democracy in the Middle East), left-wing politicos as judges on Federal courts, poorly defined relationship with NATO where we get to pick up the tab.
You name it, he is dealing with it — not ignoring it. And what does he get from the Left for his troubles — outrageous slanders and ridiculous accusations. That’s American politics in a nutshell.
What the Left really cannot stand about Trump is that he is effective.
2020
I don’t think the Dems have come up with a single candidate who could come even close to beating Trump in 2020. And the Russian collusion farce is going to backfire on them big time. Plus, they represent open borders and higher taxes — both losing positions.
Reelected
The only thing that would stop Trump from being reelected in 2020 would be a stock market crash, which is possible. And even then, the Democrats are throwing up nobodies. “Throw up” being the right verb.
Witch Hunt
Trump is going to be crowing about the Russian collusion hoax for the next 5 years, and will use it at every opportunity to skewer the Dems with a thick coat of nasty ridicule.
Russian collusion is going to be a constant theme in his sarcastic speeches. He’ll paint a picture of the Dems as dishonest connivers trying to pull a fast one on the American public. And who is to say he is wrong?
Truth is, it was a farce from the get go, used simply for political advantage by cynical politicians and media — a media interested in promoting a left-wing ideology while goosing ratings with insinuating, who-done-it stories of Trump’s “lackeys”. Just shows how dominant and controlling media in the US can be when they want to promote a false story, which is more than a little frightening.
But it’s not all a loss. America learned a new word: “collusion”.
Mueller Investigation
Mueller investigation just shows how fake the fake news from the media really is.
Farce
Irony — the farce Russia ploy against Trump, now that it has collapsed, has made him twice as strong.
Like A Hot Knife Through Butter
Trump would cut through any of the current crop of Democrat candidates like a hot knife through butter.
