Blue Sky Isn’t
In the early morning hours, the blue sky isn’t really all blue. Directly overhead is the deepest and darkest of the blue color, but as you move your eye down toward the horizon, the blue color gets lighter, and then close to the horizon it turns turquoise.
“Night on Earth”
A fascinating series on Netflix.
“Our Planet”
A remarkable, fascinating series on Netflix.
The Greatest Artist?
Nature is the greatest artist.
“Alone”
Netflix has another edition of “Alone” out. 10 survivalists competing in nature to see who can stay out the longest. Winner gets half a million. Have to admit I have an admiration for their grit and skill…and courage — there are predatory animals where the contestants are left to fend for themselves…bears, wolves, etc. Starvation is the key factor.
Banyan Trees
In St. Pete, they put a protective barrier around banyan trees to protect them. I must say they are something primordial and immense. Never seen anything quite like them.

First Leaves Fall in June
First leaves fall in June
From a sea of green in bloom.
First souls depart too soon.
Depart in the morning of their day.
Never a chance to play.
How many heights they will never scale.
How many passions never set sail.
How many sorrows never travail.
First leaves fall in June
From a sea of green in bloom.
First souls depart so soon!
