I am a voracious reader and also enjoy writing. I often have a very different point of view than the popular one. I do see value in debate, and thought it might add to the public debate on controversial issues if I were to express my contrarian opinions. I also started keeping my poems recently (I've written little pieces my whole adult life but never kept any); and I've been a photographer now for over 25 years. So I will be adding an occasional poem and hopefully interesting photograph to the blog along the way, just to spice things up.

El Paso Massacre and the Death Penalty
This is what you get when a society doesn’t have the nerve to impose the death penalty to protect itself. Madmen realize they won’t have to pay the ultimate price, so there is no severe deterrence — feel free to kill as many as you like. Foolish.
Bring back the death penalty for premeditated murder. Would give these madmen second thoughts if they knew in advance they were signing their own death warrant.

Racist!
I can think of few presidents who are less racist than Donald Trump. That smear is so unjustified. But the race card is what the Dems always resort to, even when it is inappropriate. The smear tells you more about the Dems than the person smeared.
Russia Wants to Negotiate
Listened to an interview with Putin where he asserts that Russia is eager to negotiate with the US on arms control, regulation of the cyber space, and information sharing and other measures for combating terrorism, but the US is nowhere to be seen. Why?
