Can’t see how anyone could vote for this Democratic ticket. Would have to believe the “from darkness into the light” nonsense.

Obama/Biden
Obama was surprising strong on the issue of fighting and decimating the Islamic terrorists, not just in running down bin Laden, but in the unprecedented number of drone assassinations — we became the assassination nation, par excellence, under this Democrat president.
But his divisive and poorly conceived (the young refused to pay for the health insurance of the old) Obamacare program was a fiasco from the get-go and the wrong thing to do in the face of the economic collapse with its high unemployment, which really called for a large infrastructure program to get the country back to work. Consequently, the economic recovery during his entire 2-terms in office was anemic at best, with consistently low GDP year after year. The economy eventually did recovery in spite of, not because of, Obama.
As a left-wing ideologue, Obama was supremely unsuited to guide the country’s economy back to health, with his openly hostile attitude toward capitalism, profit-oriented corporations as well as investors. Biden will be more of the same, should he be elected, just when the country needs someone who is pro-business. Yet we are faced with the same problems that happened in 2008/9 — how to get a large number of unemployed people back to work quickly, and how to make a large number of businesses profitable again, particularly small businesses shuttered and hit so hard by this coronavirus.
Ironically, the same solution, a large infrastructure program, that presented itself in 2008/9 but was never pursued, is the solution to our economic woes today. But will it be ignored again?
Police Lives Matter
Trump gets police endorsement.
Prez
I remember all the talk about how dangerous Trump would be for the country before he was actually elected. None of that turned out to be true.
But I do think if this Democratic ticket takes over the White House, especially if the Democratic Party controls both houses of Congress, that would represent a real danger to the stability of the country. All bets would be off.
For one thing, the stock market would collapse, and a real depression would follow suit. This time, no one would believe the Federal Reserve could sugar coat the problem — no more pulling the rabbit out of the hat, no more voodoo economics.
You don’t want to be invested in the stock market when and if the Dems win in November.
Not News Anymore
I don’t consider the New York Times or the Washington Post to be news anymore. It’s propaganda.
Biden
That Biden’s candidacy is being taken seriously is what is shocking. Was given legs by the pandemic and its impact on Americans.
But if there are live debates, Trump will tear him apart. So will be interesting to see if the Dems try to worm their way out of having debates.
Trash Talk
The trash talking in American politics is so over the top that it’s not worth listening to. The goal is not truth but how outrageous one can be. Trouble is so many people take it seriously and so get riled by it — a big reason why there is so much conflict in America today, why so many are so angry. And of course the media is fundamentally at fault here — yellow journalism run amuk. Back in the 80’s and 90’s in New York City, it was the New York Post that had the outrageous headline and stories, that either bordered on the preposterous and went way over the edge. Now it’s every newspaper and “news” media.
In my opinion, one should always keep in mind, when reading or hearing a political opinion, what that individual’s agenda is. Their statements tell you more about the authors than who or what they are addressing. Witness the ridiculous statements made by so many liberal celebrities — doesn’t tell you anything about the subjects they are addressing but tells you boatloads about them. I can’t tell you how many such celebrities I consider to be silly individuals now that I’ve heard their political opinions, which were baseless and foolish but predictably extreme.
President
First time we’ve had a truly forceful president since Reagan. Trump is not going to tolerate rioting in cities — period. A less forceful president would have caved on this issue, particularly in an election year. Not Trump.
Portland
The riots in Portland and Trump’s response. Ann Coulter nails it again. She’s probably the best real journalist in American today.
King
Trump would probably identify with the ancient and ironic comment about the good king: “A king’s lot: to do good and be damned.” Trump does good work and is damned for his efforts.
