Kent State Again?
Hopefully, Seattle won’t turn into another Kent State. But this time, I would be on the side of the authorities and the police. Antifa and anarchists are domestic terrorists, in my opinion. Yet if they go in with real force and many die, it would shock the country, just like Kent State did. Nevertheless, the standard needs to be protest yes, riot no, and you don’t get to take over through mob rule — that’s not democracy.

No police departments in the US and the gangs take control of the streets, and there are lots of these gangs.

Enjoying Southland — a gritty LA cops/detectives TV series. They dramatize each episode to the max, but there’s a strong realism about the show. As I say, gritty. LA has to be a very difficult place to be a cop.
Despite their recent bad press, I’m very pro-police. I think they are heroes — keeping the rest of us from turning into savages.
Police
It’s the police who keep Americans from turning into savages, particularly in large cities. A society without police would turn into a primal and deadly environment. Police are really the vanguards of orderly society. In many ways, they are the heroes. That there are a small number of corrupt and/or unnecessarily vicious cops changes none of that.
