I am a voracious reader and also enjoy writing. I often have a very different point of view than the popular one. I do see value in debate, and thought it might add to the public debate on controversial issues if I were to express my contrarian opinions. I also started keeping my poems recently (I've written little pieces my whole adult life but never kept any); and I've been a photographer now for over 25 years. So I will be adding an occasional poem and hopefully interesting photograph to the blog along the way, just to spice things up.
Border With Mexico
Biden’s immigration “policy” has created an insane situation with our border with Mexico, a situation that the Trump administration was finally trying to get a handle on after decades of ignoring the growing illegal-alien problem that no politician had the guts to tackle. Now things will go from bad to much worse with this nutty open-borders concept pushed by our very foolish president. The US is definitely in decline. It’s just going to get worse from here. The lunatics are in charge.
Comparing Trump to Biden, would you rather have an egomaniac or a fool in charge of the country? I go with the egomaniac. But we are about to see what a fool can do to us.

An arguably already broke federal government goes on an out-of-control spending binge with this 1.9T giveaway, with all kinds of political payola stuffed in. This will not end well.
After the initial buzz from all that “free” money, there’s going to be a terrible hangover. Someone has to pay for all this. That someone is YOU. Like the joke about the people playing poker — if you don’t know who the sucker at the table is, that sucker is you.

I’m not at all a fan of Governor Cuomo, but I have to say that the way he is now being roasted for unwanted advances toward women show just how puritanical the country remains relative to men in office and their libidos. Even the slightest indiscretion toward women is considered a heinous crime where the male politician should be roasted at the stake. This issue hangs like the sword of Damocles over the exposed neck of every American male politician, and they all know it. But it is not the same for women politicians — another “inequality”.
One can only contrast this with the way the French view their male politician’s indiscretions — with amusement.
