Nutrition and Health

I don’t think people realize how powerful for health super nutrition really is — partly because so few people do super nutrition. It is kind of an unexplored territory.

Poor nutrition leads to disease — diabetes, heart disease, autoimmune issues, etc. — but super nutrition leads to health, perhaps a very robust and resilient health.

So food can be the devil or an angel — your choice. Most people choose the devil, perhaps from pure ignorance. But for the few who choose the angel, how far can that take you?

New Game in Old Age

Wokeness

The problem with those who are woke is that their natural empathy and sympathy, which are good qualities, lead them into absurd positions that they don’t recognize the absurdity and the unintended consequences of.

A case in point would be the spate of unjustified police killing of blacks. The woke response was to call for a reduction in police forces around the country. But this just meant that black communities were less protected, as there were fewer cops on the beat and those on the beat tended to shy away from the black section, so black communities actually were subject to even more violence and considerably less protection.

The rational response would have been an increase in the number of police, but with black recruits so that police forces would be less lily white.

Time and again, the knee-jerk woke reaction is to call for absurd responses with terrible consequences.

True Grit

Discipline

When you must do something but you don’t want to — that’s discipline.

It is like a muscle. The more you are able to do it, the stronger it becomes. Conversely, the more you fail to do it, the weaker.

You can’t achieve anything without discipline. There isn’t much you can’t achieve with it.

Heroes

Stay Positive

They tell you to stay positive. Yet circumstances may not allow you to be positive. If the circumstances you are facing are harsh enough, then it becomes virtually impossible to “stay positive” — the likely outcome is too depressing.

But if there is some light at the end of the tunnel — real light, not false hope — then the fresh air of actually being positive, as opposed to the shallow trick of telling yourself to stay positive, breezes in and resuscitates.
