The liberalism of Robert Kennedy in the 60s was worthy of deep respect and admiration. But the liberalism of the Democratic Party today is more concerned with protecting illegal immigrants than American citizens, bent on exploiting voting fraud through those illegal immigrants, used to the suppression of any free speech that they simply don’t agree with, accustomed to distorting the truth through the left-wing press, promoting a soft attitude toward crime and underfunding law enforcement — all of which massively increases crime, prone to socialist and even communist economics with lavish spending on social programs that bankrupt cities and drive out business, which undermines the tax structure of those cities, prone to severe demagoguery by appealing to the common man through appeals to soak the rich, even though the rich already pay for most of the taxes already. It is just a cesspool that “liberalism” has become. While there is a lot of idle talking comparing Trump to Hitler because he wants to enforce our immigration laws, the truth is that this Democratic Party is the one much much closer to fascism and repression. The party really needs a new leader that can steer it back to more rational policies that are actually in the best interest of the country.

I am a voracious reader and also enjoy writing. I often have a very different point of view than the popular one. I do see value in debate, and thought it might add to the public debate on controversial issues if I were to express my contrarian opinions. I also started keeping my poems recently (I've written little pieces my whole adult life but never kept any); and I've been a photographer now for over 25 years. So I will be adding an occasional poem and hopefully interesting photograph to the blog along the way, just to spice things up. View all posts by Henry Barnard
