Trade Act of 1974 (Section 301)

Allows tariffs to respond to unfair trade practices.

I asked an AI website whether the prez has the authority to impose tariffs under the Constitution. It said this belonged to Congress, but Congress can delegate this right to the prez, and it did that in 1974 to respond to “unfair trade practices”. This is what Trump has been claiming all along.

I am a voracious reader and also enjoy writing. I often have a very different point of view than the popular one. I do see value in debate, and thought it might add to the public debate on controversial issues if I were to express my contrarian opinions.
